Our Parish

Our Parishioners are of all ages and from all backgrounds. They need support from time to time as we all do in life. This is provided in both practical and/or spiritual ways by the following:

There is an active Dance Group meeting in the Hall every Monday. No special skill needed - just a willingness to come and "strut your stuff" with other like-minded parishioners (and non-parishioners) and enjoy yourself.

Chaplaincy: When we become hospitalised it is comforting to know we have the support of the Catholic Chaplaincy Team to care for our spiritual needs. Specifically, NHS Trusts should ask two questions of all patients. 'Do you want your religious affiliation recorded?' 'Do you consent to this information being given to the chaplaincy department for the purposes of spiritual care?' These questions should be asked by the Trusts on or before admission.

These questions form part of the Trusts` duty of care in a culture that is increasingly holistic and patient led in its thinking. This is a 'best practice' NHS statement of standards of care and is there to be used. Where possible, informing your parish ensures informing the chaplaincy.

Since November 2003 new guidelines have been set out on NHS chaplaincy: Meeting the religious and spiritual needs of patients and staff (available at:
